I grew up with a sunset chasing mom. Every night, my mom would keep an eye on the sky, and if the odds were good, we would time a walk or a drive to capture that moment where the sun sinks below the horizon and the sky glows. For a good part of my childhood, I didn’t understand why we needed to see every sunset.

And then it hit me…sunsets are temporary, fleeting moments. Once they pass, there will never be another sunset exactly like it again. There is something special in experiencing those moments, and being able to look back at them through photos.

The draw to photography for me is to be able to capture those fleeting moments so you can look back on them forever. Some moments are found during milestone times, like graduating high school, getting married, or celebrating kids, pets, and family. Other moments are embedded in everyday life.
